Visiting Guest Preacher, Rev. Wayne Stafford

Rev.
W.L. STAFFORD

The Reverend Wayne L. Stafford was born in Vallejo, California. His family later moved to Wichita, Kansas where he completed his High School education. Shortly after, Reverend Stafford enlisted into the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He served 7 years and 8 months, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant/E-6, before being awarded a full R.O.T.C. scholarship to Virginia State University where he majored in Sociology and received his commission as a Second Lieutenant. Rev. W. L. Stafford is currently a Captain in the U.S. Army where he works in the field of Logistics. He has recently been reassigned to the Dallas, Texas area. He is married to his college sweetheart, Mrs. Tasha M. Stafford of Harrisburg, PA. He also received his Master of Divinity Degree in Homiletics from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia. In January 2003 Rev. Stafford will begin work toward his Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) with a Concentration in Pastoral Community Counseling at Argosy University, Sarasota, FL.

Since his early youth, Rev. Stafford has been actively involved in the work of the Church. He was licensed to preach at the age of 15 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas where the Reverend L. E. Smith is Pastor and later, at the age of 22, ordained under the leadership of Reverend L. E. Smith.

While in seminary, Rev Stafford was listed on the school's Dean's and Honor's List. He also received the Barry Jackson award from Morehouse School of Religion for outstanding achievement.

Currently, Rev. Stafford is member of the NAACP and Co-owner of The House of Inspiration Group Home for Boys. A Georgia State licensed organization that assists boys from ages 10-17 that have behavioral disorders. He is the former Pastor of Hill's Chapel Baptist Church in Faison, North Carolina where he served for 3 years before being transferred by the U.S. Army to South Korea. He is also an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Among the gifts and talents with which God has blessed Rev. W. L. Stafford, none are more meaningful and fulfilling to him than preaching and teaching. Rev. Stafford has been blessed to preach and teach throughout this country as well as abroad. He is extremely sensitive to a holistic ministry that is concerned with an individual's spiritual, mental, physical and financial well-being. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Army, in 2004, Rev. Stafford plans to pastor and seeks to empower, uplift and motivate all humanity that God places before him through the uncompromising Word of God.
